Yellow again!

Today's post has been quite a delay, coz I've meant to post it a long time ago which was approximately last week. Yesss, procrastinator is my middle name, so what?

Anyhoo, my housemates and I dah lama gell plan nak refurbish/redecorate/revamp our living room according to our tastes, and most importantly, to make it homier (is there such a word?) sebab before this we just used the old furniture our landlord left us. And by old, I mean mite-infested and rickety chairs not fit for human inhabitation. Or else, I'll get a major case of kurap if I sit too long on the sofa, which won't look pretty now, would it?

So we ordered a new sofa, some stools for the dining table, a new coffee table, tempat letak newspapers and letters etc, and new curtains. Everything was meant to be self assembled, which was 'no hal lah!' until the arrival of the 3 seater sofa with chaise lounge from IKEA delivery. Dunno what a chaise lounge is? Look down.

Kalau kat Malaysia, when you hear the word 'delivery' it will usually mean that the stuff is sooo big and will be in 2 or 3 parts that are already assembled, like a bed, or a settee, or a large cabinet for the kitchen. So we expected the same from ikea. We even cleared the hallway for fear that the sofa parts won't fit in (our house is like superb duperb small).

But boy, were we wrong. It came, alright. It came in two large boxes. Boxes that were my height and 5 times my size. I checked outside worrying whether the delivery guys forgot to send us the sofa body or something. You know, the rangka before the sofa cushions were put on. Instead, he announced 'That's it, mate! Happy assembling!'.

So yeah, we had to start literally FROM SCRATCH. And the best part was? The 2 most small and slight members of the house were the only ones available for assembly. Yes, it was Mia and I left to do this ultra challenging work. Bring it on baybeh!!!

You can see the two boxes clearly. And the rangka of the sofa. Thats mia, gruelling herself to work after many sighs.

Before. After 1 hour and 40 minutes...

Tadaaaa! *wooping*

Are we D.I.Y. girls or what?? Nampak selesa and inviting kan? Apelagi, come on over and have a sit! Sit jela tapi hahaha :D
